Our deepest fear

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

Marianne Williamson

This was a quote I heard last night, many times, in the movie Akeelah and the Bee (a very good movie by the way). This quote really struck a cord in me last night. I’ve been taking the easy way out, believing that doing great things is someone else’s destiny, not mine. Hopefully going forward I’ll have the courage to believe in myself and all that I’m capable of doing.

  1. This is one of my favorite quotes and I heard it first on Akhilah and the Bee too. Love it!
