Sunday Night Dinner and a Movie

Sunday means the weekend is almost over, even though it just started. It means getting ready for the school and work week ahead. Saturdays tend to be busy with errands, swimming lessons, laundry, housework. Sunday is our family day. No classes are booked. No playdates are planned. This is the one day when we know everyone is around.

Most families probably have a Sunday Dinner where everyone sits down for a big meal. We’re not that organized. I mean, those big dinners mean a lot of planning in my book. Instead our Sunday is for takeout. And that’s ok since dinner isn’t really the focus, though we do enjoy hanging out at the table sharing knock-knock jokes. We usually eat early, say around 4:30. Then it’s movie time. Dressed in PJs, we all sit with a bowl of popcorn and enjoy a family movie together. It’s a great way to end the week.
